Thanks for the travelogue and update. Did you feel in danger at all? What was the migrant situation like? I havn't been to Paris in many years but I've only heard bad things...
It was definitely migrant city around the major monuments (which is exactly where my poor wife wanted to go to unfortunately). We stayed in an AirBnB in Marly-le-Roi and never saw any migrants, and we mainly hung around the 3, 4, 10, 11th arrondissements and saw minimal buffoonery--much better than what you see here in ABQ New Mexico...
I fully intend on going back to France (likely someplace in central or down by the Med) again, I really enjoyed the language. Compared to Central/Eastern Europe when we went in '22 there was definitely less random African migrants hauking knockoff tourist trap goods.
There was certainly a fair amount of trash and debris in the areas but the fact that the Olympics were coming up very soon probably masked a lot of things that would normally be present. We also randomly witnessed a Palestine protest which was staffed entirely by non-ethnic-French humans and there was maybe 100 of them yelling and marching surrounded by a moving band of 100 fully kitted out French soldiers.
